Job Description:
As a Compliance Agent, Customs and Security, you will be required to be versatile in your tasks. This position is a three-pronged role, encompassing accounting, security and compliance, and customs clearance. In addition, the agent will actively contribute to Synergie Canada's growth by providing personalized and innovative service as a customer ambassador. You will do more than just transport goods from one point to another; you will help our clients ensure sound management of their supply chain.
Accounting:
- Receive supplier invoices
- Validate amounts according to rates
- Create invoices
- Create purchase orders in the system
- Transfer invoices
- Receive K84 forms and forward to clients at the end of each month
- Be comfortable communicating by phone and email
Security and Compliance:
- Review and assess adherence to the company's compliance process and verification of carrier profiles to introduce new carriers
- Assess and manage risks by validating service history, credit, certification, permits, etc.
- Participate in the evaluation of service providers and provide recommendations
- Work closely with logistics operations managers to identify and resolve qualification anomalies
- Maintain the integrity of the company's system by updating contracts and ensuring the accuracy of information
- Participate in the development and maintenance of a preferred carrier list to better meet the needs of logistics operations and reduce risks
- Review carrier performance and safety status annually, address issues, and make recommendations
Customs Clearance:
- Prepare customs clearance submissions for clients
- Open customs clearance accounts
- Oversee daily customs clearance operations
- Verify documentation
- Monitor and manage import shipments until completion in compliance with quality standards
- Track daily customs entries
- Respond to and guide clients throughout the customs clearance process
- DEC or equivalent in transport logistics/international trade
- Minimum 1 year of experience in transport logistics
- Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written

Employment Conditions:
- Probationary period: 3 months following the start date
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
- Status: Permanent
- Group insurance after 3 months of service
- RRSP after 3 months of service
- A total of 40 hours is offered for work-life balance on an annual basis
- 2 weeks of vacation
- Salary range: Based on experience
